Water in oils

Marine pictures by Herefordshire-based painter Martin Lamport. These paintings are inspired by sailing and traveling experiences, using conditions and locations I have witnessed and subjects which caught my imagination. Some have stories attached. Some are merely for fun. They probably do not satisfy any modern definition of art. I just strive for craftsmanship. Taking my inspiration from the Mad Hatter I paint what I like and I like what I paint. I hope you do too.

Entering port under sail, oil on canvas 15 x 19 inches.
I do not know the name of this ship, but the picture shows that even quite a large ship could be sailed directly into port on a blustery day.
